Real Madrid interested in signing 31-year-old Manchester City midfielder come summer

Real Madrid is reportedly planning a summer transfer move to secure the services of a 31-year-old Germany international, who plays as a midfielder for Manchester City, according to reports.

The Germany international has been in a superb form for Manchester City since he joined them and has been able to enjoy a regular first-team start under Pep Guardiola.

Ilkay Gundogan will be leaving the Etihad Stadium in the summer as a free agent and he looks to have been shown interest by some top clubs, who believe him to be a good addition to their midfield ahead of the next season.

According to CaughtOffside, Real Madrid are interested in signing the 31-year-old as a way to boost their midfield, having seen the likes of Luka Modric, Casemiro, and Toni Kroos all reaching the latter stages of their career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid could face competition from Arsenal and Barcelona to sign the Germany international, who has been a crucial figure for Manchester City this season and has been able to feature in 26 Premier League games and found the back of the net six times.
