DANGER: Maggi Cubes are not Safe for Butt Enhancement

Fashion ideals and beauty standards change with time. There was a time when skinny was the ultimate standard of beauty, and at this time, black women who are known to be generally curvier were looked upon as ugly. In recent years though, the conditions have changed drastically.

Nowadays, the rave for bigger butts is increasing, and cosmetic surgeons are ready to serve customers as butt-lifting techniques have evolved amazingly over the years. The most famous nowadays is the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

While butt enhancement is becoming ever increasingly available as an option for men and women nowadays, there are also quacks cosmetic surgeons who have deformed many patients. It is advisable therefore to make enquiries before opting for any treatment. But the safest and most professional services cost quite a lot, and so some people are opting for DIY procedures that may be even more dangerous.

Recently, there have been reported incidents of women in Africa dying because of high blood pressure due to DIY buttlifts. But what procedure causes their blood pressure to rise so high? Well, the process is said to involve women dissolving buillon cubes in water and injecting the solution into the anal canal.

In 2016, Vice host, Hailey Gates, interviewed some Congolese women about the growing fashion at that time. In 2019, the trend was still getting more popular, and Dr. Silas Agbesi Joy had to make a Twitter post that:

If you crush the seasoning cubes which contains largely salt and inject it into your anus, the lining of the anus would absorb a huge portion of that salt into your  salt in thebloodstream. Excess bloodstream is a major contributor to hypertension, especially in Africans. A person, in theory, can develop hypertension from this practice.

But....are people willing to oblige. Much recently, the news has begun spreading again. There are those who believe that publicising the trend could result in more interest in the activity and more fatalities as a result, but we believe that ignorance is a disease. People need to know that if they ever come across such advise, engaging in the practice could result in DEATH!
