BODY BUILDING: 5 Important Tips to Ease the Journey

Feeding is a very important aspect of every weight gain journey. To build muscle mass requires taking in more calories than you burn. On the other hand, eating excess calories to build more muscles could lead to you gaining excess fat. The more difficult it is for your body to gain weight, the more calories you may consume.

It is also important to eat balanced diets that give the body nutrition as part of a healthy, balanced diet that will help in muscle building, loss of fat and strength.

Here are eight simple tips to help you get on track:

1.     Never skip meals

Skipping meals or staying hungry for long periods puts you at risk of resorting to unhealthy snacks. You also risk over-eating when next you have a meal.

Never skip breakfast. Also, eat healthy and smaller meals every 3 hours than a one huge meal, as this leads to increased body fat. Smaller food ratios also lead to your stomach size reducing.

2.     Eat proteins

Proteins are called body building foods for a reason. They also help to maintain body muscles. Protein sources include red meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy, and vegan options like tofu.

3.     Eat only healthy fats

Healthy fats digest slowly, so they improve health and fat loss. Avoid artificial trans-fat and eat healthy ones with every meal.

Foods with high amounts of healthy fats are fish, seeds & nuts, and vegetable oils like sunflower oil, soyabeans oil, groundnut oil, corn oil, canola oil, coconut oil, olive oil, etc.

4.     Drink water

In your journey to weight gain, you might be supplementing dieting with exercises. Exercises cause water loss through sweating, and so ideally, drinking water rehydrates the body and prevents hunger which can lead to unnecessary eating.

5.     Eat whole foods

Whole foods are unrefined and unprocessed foods, that is, foods in their natural state. It is better, for example, to take oranges than to take oranges juice. Processed and refined foods contain chemicals and high sugars which add fat rather than muscles.

Building body mass is important for a lot of people. For some, this could be naturally easy, while for others, it could take a lot more effort.

In building body mass, it is important to avoid habits that lead to increase in body fat. High body fat is actually unhealthy. The muscles are the best option here.

Supplementing dieting with exercise makes a whole lot of difference in the journey to bulking up. Just drink enough water after exercise for the body to stay hydrated.
