 The UEFA champions league final for the 2020/21 season is upon us, A UCL campaign which has seen some shocking results that left fans all over the world dumbfounded. It all started with 32 teams, the best across the European leagues. Now, There are just 2 clubs left in the competition. The elites, both from England, defied all odds to get to the final stage of the competition.

 Trepidation, nolstalgia, anxiety, palpitations in the hearts of football fans as Manchester City and Chelsea are set to give the fans across footballing divide an entertaining showdown in the UEFA champions league final.

Manchester City and Chelsea have played a total of 151 games in total in all competitions, City having won on 51 occasions with Chelsea being victorious 61 times. The result has ended in a stalemate on 39 different occasions.

Chelsea having won 4 of their last 10 matches  against City with the most recent being a 2-1 victory in the PL, scoring 8 goals in the time frame. Manchester City has been victorious against the blues on 5 occasions including a 6-0 thumping at the Etihad. The cityzens have scored 16 goals in that period.

Manchester City has released their squad ahead of the UCL final. The Cityzens, just after a 5-0 thumping of Everton on the last matchday of the Premier League are on course to lift their first ever UCL trophy.

Confirmed Manchester City squad:

Goalkeepers: Ederson Moraes, Zack Steffen, Scott Carson and James Trafford.

Defenders: Kyle Walker, João Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Eric Garcia, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Benjamin Mendy.

Midfielders: Rodrigo Hernandez, Fernandinho, Ilkay Gündogan, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

Forwards: Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Kun Aguero.

The Chelsea squad which has travelled to Portugal for the UEFA champions League final set to be played on May the 29th has also been revealed. Thomas Tuchel's side flew to Portugal ahead of Saturday's final against Manchester City.

Edouard Mendy who was subbed off after an injury in the final PL match of the season against Aston Villa has had a tremendous recovery as he is set to man the Goalpost against Manchester City, Ngolo Kante has also returned from injury and has also resumed training.

Conclusion

Manchester City remains the only unbeaten team in this season's UCL campaign. Having won 11 and drawn 1 whilst Chelsea have won 8 times, drawn three times and lost just once. Funny enough, City's only draw and Chelsea's only defeat came against Porto. Both teams have put in their all to get to this stage of the competition. But, only one of them will lift the trophy. Who will it be?
